Isle of Wight train line re-imagined by lover of the Island

Re-instating the Island-wide train service is a subject that’s often talked about on the Isle of Wight.

Dan Warren, who grew up in Southampton and lived there until 2007, has been in touch with an interesting creation.

He’s designed an underground tube map for the Isle of the Wight. Dan says he always loved visiting the Island when he lived in Southampton and was last here in 2014.

How it came about
He now lives in Warrington, near Liverpool and when he designed a map for his new home town, he got such positive feedback he thought he’d try one for the Island.

We love Dan’s map and think it would be dreamy to see the train line reinstated across the Island (we reckon overland would be better in some areas).

What a difference it could make to the Island’s economy.

Naming the lines
Dan says he hasn’t thought of line names, yet but suggest the yellow line could be Island Circle.

Why not chuck your ideas in about what the other lines could be called.

He’s also looking at producing prints, so if you’re interested let us know and we’ll put you in touch with him.
