Isle of Wight band Dead! sign to Infectious Music

More great news for the Isle of Wight music scene as four-piece band DEAD! announce they’ve been signed to record label, Infectious Music.

With the signing, they’re now in the company of the likes of alt-J, Cloud Control, DMA’s, Drenge, Local Natives, The Temper Trap and These New Puritans.

The band’s new single, You’re So Cheap, has already received BBC Radio 1 airplay, which they celebrated with a sell-out show in London.

Who are DEAD!?
The band members, Alex Mountford (vocals), Sam Matlock (guitar), Louis Matlock (guitar) and Sam Chappell (bass) first got together back in 2012 when they met at Southampton Solent University.

Here’s what’s being said about the latest single:

YOU’RE SO CHEAP is a dirty, riff-filled punk rode ode to the anxiety and discomfort of, hmmm, certain social situations.

“The band themselves possess the youthful charm and enthusiasm of pretty much every cool band you ever loved.

“General consensus suggests that DEAD! are the band to check out on the festival circuit this summer, and on their full tour support with Hands Like Houses.

On tour and doing the festival circuit
The band are touring throughout May and June, and are confirmed for a number of festival appearances throughout the summer, including Brighton Great Escape, Slam Dunk Festival, Reading Festival, Leeds Festival, Download Festival and 2000 Trees Festival.

Video stars
Check out the video below for the new single. We love the look of the video and hear from the band that it was “just a little creative project” for them and their friends.

They say,

“We knew what we wanted so we could get a more concise result; that it was quicker and cheaper was just an added bonus. This video feels more like a mood board of what Dead! is about than a music video y’know?”
