EU Ref: Did you postal vote? Important to read this

The EU Referendum has arrived and hopefully residents on the Isle of Wight have made or will be making their way to the polling stations.

If you’re a postal voter, the Isle of Wight counting officer, Chris Mathews, has an important message. As well as returning your voting slip, you should also have included a completed Postal Voting Statement.

Chris Mathews said,

“Are you a postal voter? If you’ve sent in your postal vote for the EU referendum and the Postal Voting Statement (PVS) wasn’t included, then your vote won’t count.

“The PVS arrived with your ballot paper – so check around the house and if you find it; fill in your date of birth, your signature and drop it off at County Hall as soon as possible. Mark it for the attention of ‘The Counting Officer, PVS included’.

“You may also drop your completed PVS at your local polling station tomorrow, as we will still be able to match it to your postal ballot paper. Don’t miss out as your vote won’t count.”
