A very big thank you should also go to Howard Jacobs (assisted by) Jos Wright, Kerry and Kyle Jacobs – who set eight excellent sections. Christine Jacobs did a fantastic job keeping us topped up with tea & coffee, burgers from the BBQ and of course for the results. The Club would like to thank Viki Taylor for her excellent camera work and to all those that helped with the new marquee.

The first stage consisted of the usual four laps of eight observed sections with no time limit. This stage also attracted Championship points. Stage two required riders to complete another four laps of the same eight observed sections – this time with a time limit of just one hour.

The final stage was an enduro style speed course where riders had an hour to complete as many laps as possible. The overall results are determined by adding together the riders scores from the first two stages then deducting their completed third stage lap tally.

The overall winner (for the second successive year) was Nick Symes (above), on his Twin Shock Honda. Nick actually finished with a negative total of minus three! His total for the first two stages was just five marks, he then went on to notch up eight completed laps – excellent work Nick. Howard Jacobs did well to claim second place with an excellent third place finish for Son Kerry Jacobs – very good effort Kerry, you should be really pleased with this result.

Championship
There were no Expert riders today meaning that the Intermediate class led the way. Andy Scott-Jackson (below) proved to be the clear winner with another solid performance. Brothers Mike and Geoff Taylor finished in second and third respectively.

The well contested Novice class was headed up by Brian Brockwell dropping just twelve marks to get his first win in this year’s Championship. Wayne Brodie and Paul Kent were some way off the mark to take the minor placings. Brian’s superior riding at the difficult section five helped make all the difference.

Nick Symes was the clear winner in the Twin Shock group of riders, Nick finished with the lowest score of the day – a miserly single mark! It was good to see Howard Jacobs (below) riding again and he was rewarded with a decent second place finish with Stuart Freeman in a distant third place.

Scott Milton (Clubman class) despite riding unopposed, posted a really competitive score to earn himself another ten Championship points. Kerry Jacobs took the win (Adult Beginner) with another determined effort. The Youth classes saw Alfie Haydon take the win in the Under 80cc class while Luke Snow (Youth E class) finished with a great total of just fifteen marks to claim his second Championship win – good effort by both youngsters.

The full section/stage scores are available from the Club’s Website. The next trial will be held on 24th July 2016. Please check the website nearer the time for the full details.
