Fort Walk: Zero parking on Duver Road

In anticipation of the popular annual unofficial Bembridge and St Helens Fort Walk, parking restrictions will be in force on Sunday.

Ward councillor, Jonathan Bacon, had requested the restriction be applied following traffic chaos in 2015.

The detail
The restriction will be in force between 6am and midnight (or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner).

There will be “No Waiting At Any Time” parking restrictions on both side of the carriageway on Duver Road, St Helens from its junction with B3330 until its junction with the car park access road.

Take the bus?
If you are planning to head to St Helens on Sunday, to avoid any parking headaches you may want to take the bus instead.

OnTheWight reader, Rio Bellgore-Gullit,

“The number 8 stops at Bembridge Point, by the Tollgate Cafe. This is why I go from Bembridge instead of St Helens. If more people used the bus, it may help the parking/traffic jam issues.”

See the Southern Vectis Website for timetable details (don’t forget to select Sundays when reading the timetable).
