Isle of Wight homegrown Web series nominated for Raindance Film Festival award

Congratulations to Isle of Wight writer and director, Hannah George of Somewhen Productions.

S-Band, the mockumentary Web series, written and directed on the Isle of Wight by Hannah, has been nominated in the Best UK Web Series category of the Raindance Film Festival.

The series is based on the writer and director’s high school days on the Isle of Wight and features a wealth of new talent, mixed with established comedy names. S-Band follows the lives of the staff and students of the S-Band class at Northwood High School for students with behavioural problems, bad attitudes and a penchant for setting fire to things.

Hannah: “Thrilled!”
On hearing about the nomination, Hannah told OnTheWight,

“I’m thrilled on behalf of myself and everyone involved in S-Band to be included in such a prestigious film festival and being nominated for an award was a great added bonus.

“We’re shooting our next Web series Aluvium, a comedy sci-fi next month and releasing another comedy sketch this weekend. So it’s all go at Somewhen Productions!”

Previous success
S-Band follows on from Hannah’s previous writing success on shows such as Trollied (Sky 1), Wolfblood (CBBC/BBC3), House of Anubis (Nickelodeon) and Miranda Hart’s “My, What I Call, Live Show”.

Best of luck to Hannah and all those involved in the production.
