Design Competition Launched For Recycling Bins

It’s competition time for the kids of Ventnor. Yesterday, all primary schools in Ventnor were informed of a competition to design logos and a slogan for new recycling bins that will be placed down on the beach.

Penwith Recycling Bins

The bins are required in order to meet certain criteria to gain blue flag status for the beach and The Ventnor Partnership on behalf of the Town Council, are inviting all children of primary school age who live in Ventnor to take part.

The competition will be split into three categories:

Children of reception age are invited to design the logo for the ‘Cans’ bin.

Years one and two can have a crack at designing the logo for ‘Glass’ bins

Years three and four get ‘Textiles’

The partnership are also asking for an overall slogan for the bins. As an example, Ventnor Mayor, Susan Scoccia has suggested “Value Ventnor – Bin it!”

The logos and slogans should be on an A4 piece of paper and returned to schools in Ventnor by Friday 29th February at the latest. The design can be either drawn, painted, a collage or designed using the computer.

The logos will be judged in March and the lucky winners of the most original designs will have their logo on the recycling bins!

If you don’t attend school in Ventnor, but still want to enter the competition, please send your entries to:
