Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is delighted to announce that they have been awarded a £5,000 grant from the Santander Foundation to aid in the running of the charity.

A member of staff from Santander, nominated the charity following the tragic loss of one their colleagues, Justine Emblin-Butler who, along with her boyfriend Ben, had been in a car accident which had been attended by the Air Ambulance. Without the Air Ambulance Ben might not have survived, which is why Justine’s colleagues appreciate the importance of donating money to the charity.

£125,000 per month need to run the Air Ambulance
Like many charities, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance relies solely on the generosity of the public to maintain its service. The Air Ambulance requires a massive £125,000 each month in order to continue flying and saving lives across the county.

The Santander Foundation provides grants of up to £5,000 with the Santander Community Plus programme, which can be used to cover salary costs, equipment and materials and is open to small UK charities or a local project of national charities.

“Enormously grateful to the Santander Foundation”
Chief Executive of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, John Perry said, “We are enormously grateful to the Santander Foundation for giving us access to this generous grant. We receive no government funding for operations, relying entirely on the generosity of the people and businesses of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.”
