Businesses team up to offer destination boutique and save rental costs

Thanks to Sheila for sharing this great piece of positive business news. Ed

Two Island businesses have come up with an innovative way of working in the current economic climate – by teaming up to share premises in Union Street, Ryde.

sugar-spice-rydeDesigner shoe retailer Bellissima are vacating their current premises in Cross Street and moving into the existing premises of lingerie shop Sugar & Spice in Union Street.

The new shop is now set to become an attractive destination boutique – allowing shoppers to browse and purchase top name lingerie, shoes, handbags and accessories all together in the same store.

Supporting independent businesses
Sheila Wilson of Sugar & Spice said: “We really wanted to develop a business model that supports two independent businesses.

“Both compliment each other extremely well and by working together we are able to reduce overheads and increase footfall for us both. We think this may be a first for the Island.”

Tina Lettington of Bellissima went on: “We have both worked with The Price is Wight and they suggested we see how we could work with each other. Sheila and I quickly realised that we have the same ethos of providing great customer service matched with offering high quality products, and we hit it off straight away.”

Launch party
The shop has had a makeover to accommodate both businesses, and will be open from March.

A launch party will be held on Saturday 16th March from 9.30am to 7pm with discounts on the day, a free prize draw, Prosecco and canapés.
