Bookshop bake-off for World Book Night

Buns:

Thanks to Paul from Waterstones for sharing details of this event taking place next week. Ed

Next Tuesday 23rd is World Book Night, an annual event where half a million books are given away by volunteers across the country. Each ‘giver’ is supplied with 25 copies of their favourite book to give away to whomever they wish.

Every year Waterstones in Newport has thrown a fantastic party where givers are invited to set up stall enjoy a glass of wine, give away books, swap books, take part in our literary quiz and generally enjoy an evening of book related banter. The evening is open to the general public too, all they need is bring along a favourite book or two they’d like to share/swap with someone else.

Bookshop Bake-off
This year, with more givers than ever, we will be doing all of that as well as holding a Bookshop Bake-off.

Everyone is invited to bring cakes, buns or breads made from their favourite recipes to exchange, scoff and compare. You can vote for your favourite and there will be a free cookbook for the winner.

So, bring along yourselves, your friends, your families, your books and your cakes and join us for a superb night. The evening will start at 7.00pm but it would be great if givers could arrive from 6.30 to allow us time to get them set up.

Please help us to spread the news and we look forward to seeing you then.
