Isle of Wight 6-a-Side Football League wraps up for the year

Thanks to Tom for this latest report from Football Mundial. Ed

The Isle of Wight 6-a-Side Football League season played at Smallbrook Stadium AstroTurf in Ryde wrapped up this month.

Having finished fourth in the previous league campaign, this year saw Hogs Legends II being crowned 6-a-side Champions as they finished in top spot.

UTB came agonisingly close again after finishing third last season, took the even more frustrating position of second this time round.

Thirteen teams participated through the Autumn season, commenting on the league, Football Mundial’s Tom McDonough said,

“With two brand new teams joining for the Winter 2016 Season; next year is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever before.

“We’re hoping to expand to two divisions, with promotion/relegation and incorporating a Champions League style cup competition; giving teams more opportunity to win silverware.”
