10.31am: Flood warning has been lifted

A new Flood Warning has been issued by the Environment Agency for Langbridge and Alverstone on the Eastern Yar.

They say that flooding is expected for Langbridge and Alverstone on the Eastern Yar this evening and that immediate action required.

30 mm of rain has fallen in the last 24 hours and levels in the Eastern Yar are high.

At Budbridge upstream, the river peaked at 17:00 hours, which means that levels will continue to rise for the next 4 to 5 hours at Langbridge and Alverstone.

Cycle tracks, footpaths and gardens will flood and the level may impact Station House at Alverstone.
