A 58-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an investigation into suspicious incidents on the Island.

The man, from Freshwater, was arrested on Friday, September 2, on suspicion of a number of sexual offences.

This is in connection with two reports of a man approaching teenage girls on Saturday, August 20, in East Cowes and Freshwater.

The man is currently in police custody.

Man bailed following suspicious incidents on the Isle of Wight

A 58-year-old man arrested in connection with an investigation into suspicious incidents on the island has been bailed pending further enquiries.

The man, from Freshwater, was arrested on Friday, September 2, on suspicion of a number of sexual offences. He is due to report back to police on October 5 2016.

This is in connection with two reports of a man approaching teenage girls on Saturday, August 20, in East Cowes and Freshwater.
