A concerned group of Ryde residents have taken to making scarecrows in a creative bid to scare off a planning application on one of the last working dairy farms on the Island.

The Save Westridge Farm group are opposing plans to build over 80 dwellings on land that has been farmed for over 700 years.

A spokesperson from Save Westridge Farm said,

“The scarecrows are a fun way of getting our message across – that this farm is an important rural asset for the whole of the Isle of Wight and should not be built on. We’re inviting everyone, wherever they are, to make and display a scarecrow to show support for Westridge Farm.”
