Cafe Scientifique: Share your views on the theory of human origin and Hinkley Point

The Cafe Scientifique season opens (tonight) with a members’ discussion evening.

There will be two topics for discussion tonight:

  • Hinkley Point – Is it a viable solution for base load electricity?
  • Human evolution – New evidence on a theory of human origin that suggested that our ancestors began their existence alongside water.

There were two programmes given by David Attenborough on Radio4 last week in the morning.

If you were unable to hear them, they are now on the BBC iPlayer

Where and when
Cafe Scientifique takes place on Monday 26th September at 7pm at the Conservative Club in Shanklin.

The Regency Suite is above the Conservative Club in Shanklin in Palmerston Road just off the High Street.

The nearest car parks are in Landguard Road and Orchardleigh Road, both only two or three minutes walk to the Conservative Club. Parking is free after 6pm.

Hopefully a donation of £1 towards room hire will be sufficient instead of the usual £3.

Hope you can come along and make it a stimulating evening.
