Letter: Not impressed with Lynnbottom ‘improvements’

We always welcome a Letter to the Editor to share with our readers – unsurprisingly they don’t always reflect the views of this publication. If you have something you’d like to share, get in touch and of course, your considered comments are welcome below. This from Roger Cheesman. Ed

I visited the enhanced Lynnbotton waste site recently and was not impressed.

On arrival there was little traffic through the site. Access was controlled on entry and further control was managing movements further into the site.

Lots of people in hi-viz jackets standing around and not doing a great deal. The ‘control’ to garden waste held everybody up for more than ten minutes and when we were finally allowed to park and dispose of our garden waste the car in front of us started offloading old bricks into it with the controller looking on: There is a specific point for such waste.

By the time we left, the traffic was queuing out on Briddlesford Road in both directions.

Frankly, movements on the site were far better before improvements were started and with less controllers.
