The future of Island Line is hotly-debated. Here's the first in a number of exchanges between David Pugh and Nick Finney exchanging views on whether the Government provides a subsidy to the line, or not.
Island Line Trains are the Isle of Wight’s only commercial rail provider.
The service runs from Ryde Pier head in the north of the Island, to Shanklin towards the south.
It’s a vital lifeline, providing a swift connection to means to exit to the Mainland, via the FastCat or Hover.
