Inspirational women on the Isle of Wight are being celebrated today, International Women’s Day. Read some of the stories of these remarkable women who did remarkable things whilst on the Island.
Isle of Wight Pride
The very first Isle of Wight Pride took place on the Island on 15th July 2017.
It was a hugely successful day attracting visitors from around the Island and across the water. Soon after the event, a date for 2018 was announced: Saturday 21st July.
The 2018 event will also incorporate UK Pride for the first time after winning a competition to host the event.

Joe Davies' speech in Youth Parliament yesterday on the 50th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality opened with a dedication to the Isle of Wight Pride team. His rousing speech resulted in a standing ovation.
