The Bembridge Sailing Club Committee had unanimously agreed to support Bembridge Community Library thanks to the wonderful service it provides to the local community.
Jonathan Bacon was elected in 2013 as Isle of Wight Councillor for Brading, St Helens and Bembridge. He was also Executive Member for Children’s Services and Corporate Governance and later became leader of the IWC.
He stood for reelection in 2017 but failed to gain enough votes.
He is now the Chair of the IW AONB Partnership.

Councillor who proposed scrapping of Executive Secretary role … becomes Executive Secretary (updated)
This time last year Cllr Bob Blezzard was one of those calling for the role of Executive Secretary to be scrapped in order to "meet future needs of a smaller council". Fast forward a year and he is now in that role himself.

When challenged on if he'd drop the Jon Platt school case, Cllr Whitehouse stated a legal agreement had been entered into by Cllr Bacon with the DfE limiting what Cllr Whitehouse can say. This morning Cllr Bacon says, "there is no such ‘legal agreement’," presenting what he claims as evidence.

Only two weeks ago - while in opposition - Cllr Chris Whitehouse called the Supreme Court case against Jon Platt a “vindictive harassment”, labelling it "an arrogance of power". Now he’s Executive member for Children’s Services, OnTheWight asked Cllr Whitehouse if he will withdraw the case.
