Annie Leonard Silver Award Exhibition

News reaches us this week that as part of her Arts Award, 14 year old Ventnor lass, Annie Leonard, 14, has an exhibition of her photographic work at Dimbola Lodge in Freshwater Bay starting tomorrow.

Annie Leonard Silver Award ExhibitionAs part of her challenge Annie has planned and produced a series of images inspired by her main influences, being street culture, 60’s imagery, her friends and the world around.

Annie’s work over the past few weeks has resulted in this exhibition, ‘Look me up, Look me down’ consisting of 35 images, which have been printed by ‘Island Printers’ in East Street, Ryde. Following the exhibition Annie hopes to develop her photographic skills and continue to pursue photography in higher education.

The Arts Award was created to help students to develop their arts skills and lead arts activities resulting in an accreditation.

Annie attends Medina High School where she is working towards the Silver Award, which is equivalent to Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). This Level 2 award recognises the student’s ability to gain a good knowledge and understanding of a subject area of work or study and to perform varied tasks building knowledge and skills in relation to their chosen area of work.
