Organisations supporting people with Autism are joining forces to promote the range of services that can be accessed on the Island.

Carers and professionals, along with those with autism spectrum condition, are being encouraged to attend an information day at Downside Community Centre on Tuesday 2nd April between 10am and 4pm.

As well as information on the support currently available, it will provide those who attend with the opportunity to contribute to the Isle of Wight Strategy for People with Autism Spectrum Condition.

Organised by several partners
It is being organised by the IW Council, Way Forward, the National Autistic Society and the Hampshire Autistic Society to celebrate the sixth annual World Autism Awareness Day.

A series of workshops will run throughout the day including taster sessions of the types of activities offered by Way Forward such as digital photography, drama and musical theatre, film and animation and comic book writing.

Places for these workshops are limited and can be booked by phoning Mandy Morritt on 01983 523000.

The event is free and refreshments will be available at the Isobel Centre Cafe on site.
