With many fires in the last couple of weeks that could have been avoided, the Isle of Wight council are reminding Islanders and visitors of the increased risk of wildfires
Of course everyone wants to know the details of what caused the Cowes Fire, but the Chief Fire Officer and the council are concerned that many details have leaked out through the CP in advance of the official report's release.
The Cabinet member responsible for Fire and Rescue Services says he believes, "most people will understand having firefighters in the right place at the right time will save lives, not put them in danger".
The car left Belgrave Road and ended up in the trees below, where the steps lead down to Esplanade Road. Police are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
