Friday Roundup
The Bonchurch Village Singers will be warming up their vocals chords this afternoon for their performance tonight at St John’s Church in Wroxall. Free entrance, with refreshments, but there will be a retiring collection at the end.
Over in Newport, Tommaso Starace will have the audience jazzing out with his spectacular sax appeal. Still some tickets left if you fancy it.
If you fancy something a little more alternative, then head up to Oakfield Football Club for The Electro Magnetic Workshop. Live performance by the band, DJ spinning the vinyl and Lady Phaedie hosting a game show with a difference.
Saturday Roundup
Of course there is the excellent Eric Geddes exhibition at Quay Arts, well worth the visit on Saturday when there is also the book launch of ‘The Children’s Guide to the Isle of Wight’.
If you’re heading down South, check out the Beautiful Gardens of Bonchurch. With some old favourites and new additions, such as Nightingales and Village Road or Littledene Lodge, Madeira Road it’ll only cost you £3 to buy a programme which gets you into all gardens. Our sense of humour didn’t go down well a couple of years ago when we had a bit of fun choosing titles for the posting
Hipshaker returns to The Venue on Saturday night for another night of the best 60s soul, R’n’b and Funk, manning the decks will be the resident DJs and guest DJ Dom Cater. Tickets are £5 adv/£6 on the door.
Sunday Roundup
The Guy Page Trio will be gracing the bandstand at Ventnor Park on Sunday afternoon between 2.30-4pm. Well worth checking out these guys who are getting tighter with every gig they play.

From the team who brought “In the Spotlight” to the town last summer, Ventnor Theatre Group’s show for this summer “Music from the Movies” kicks off again on Tuesday 15th July, and will run every Tuesday until the last show on 26th August. A must see for visitors and island residents. Shows start at 7.30pm with all tickets costing £5.50.
