Earl of Wessex will be visiting Ryde School to unveil plaques to commemorate the opening of the Bembridge Building and Wessex Quadrangle and also unveiling an plaque on Ryde Pier on 23rd March
Ryde is known as ‘the Gateway to the Isle of Wight’ due to its Victorian pier where the Wightlink passenger ferry arrives. Hovertravel’s Hover also has a terminal here.
The shopping in Ryde is well-renowned with lots of independent shops.
Ryde has very large, shallow beaches and parks to match, making it a popular destination during the summer.
It’s also the largest conurbation on the Isle of Wight.
