A couple of months ago, we reported that Southern Water was up for sale.
Well, surprise surprise, guess which Australian company has gone and put a bid in to acquire the supplier of water to the Island?
Yes, of course, it’s none other than Macquarie. Not satisfied with owning the water between here and the mainland (ie. the means of transportation across the Solent, Wightlink), they are now keen to own our water supply too.
If you’re interested in the nuts and bolts of the bid, check out the piece on The Telegraph.
