Given the cold, wet and windy weather at the weekend, and even bigger hand should go out to all those who took part in the Bill West Absent Friends Sandcastle Competition.
The annual event attracted many competitors with a huge variety of sandcastles/ sculptures being created on Appley Beach in memory of absent friends.
The competition was adjudicated by Damon Corr (pictured) who also managed to capture a whopping 160+ photos at the event.
The raffle, which had some excellent prizes (well done to all who donated), took place at the Appley Beach Cafe.
We’re told that the grand total raised from the event was £1,400! Every penny will go to Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
