On Saturday 21st October 2023, something rather special is happening at the Newport Methodist Church.
The kind of event that brings back memories of friendships, adventures, and community service.
A celebration spanning decades
Mark your calendars for the 1st Newport Boys Brigade Reunion, an occasion that promises to celebrate decades of camaraderie and community spirit.
Were you a part of the 1st Newport Boys Brigade between the years 1985 and 2022? If yes, this event is calling out to you.
Regardless of whether you served as a boy member, an officer, a helper, or an associate, or even if you were part of the joint Boys and Girls Brigade Band, this reunion beckons you.
Walking down Memory Lane
The day kicks off at 11am with a heartening coffee reception, setting the tone for a day of warm memories and reconnection.
Between 11.30am and 12.30pm, it’s time to share those cherished memories and reflections of your time with the brigade. A golden opportunity to relive those golden days.
Sharing and caring
The brigade has always been about community, and what better way to foster community spirit than over a shared meal?
From 12.30pm to 1.30pm, attendees will be treated to a light lunch. Perfect for those informal chats and walks down Memory Lane.
But that’s not all. Once lunch is over, from 1.30pm to 3pm, there’s more coffee, more chats, and ample opportunities for shared tales and nostalgic moments.
Open invitation to worship
The festivities don’t end on Saturday.
On Sunday 22nd October, starting at 10.30am, there’s an open invitation for all to attend the morning service at the Newport Methodist Church.
It’s another wonderful chance for fellowship, reflection, and that warm sense of community the brigade has always upheld.
