Yesterday afternoon saw many gather in St Thomas’ Square for the big balloon release as part of International Missing Children’s Day.
Organised by Vectis Radio, the event was part of a nationwide initiative raising awareness and in memory of missing children from around the world.
Over 200 balloons were released just after 4pm in the square by family members of missing children and teenagers, school children, junior Youth wardens, a member from the Island Constabulary as well as Island musician and radio presenter, Gareth Icke.
Money was also raised for the charity, Forever Searching through selling wrist bands and pins.
