Congratulations to Islander Colin McArthur, who continued his campaign today to raise awareness and money for research to help cure retinitis pigmentosa, an inherited condition which causes blindness.
Earlier today, Colin took the controls of one of WightLink’s brand new £3m catamarans and completed two sailing across the Solent.
Suffering from the condition himself has not hindered Colin’s efforts to raise the profile of the campaign. He has previously piloted a hovercraft across the Solent as well as flown a Britten-Norman Islander plane.
Money raised through his efforts will go towards a new research project being launched by Southampton University to find a cure for inherited blindness.
