Readers might remember the Red Hot Talent comp run last year by Red Funnel which resulted in a number of Islanders going through to the finals.
The competition returns this year and adds another feather to its bow.
The aim of the comp is to reveal the South’s hidden talent and is open to all sorts of disciplines, from singers to belly dancers and everything in between.
This year, the winner will not only play in front of Red Funnel passengers throughout the summer, but also walk away with £1000 and the opportunity to perform at Bestival 2010.
For the runners up there a second place prize of £500 and £250 for third place.
Heats are due to take place on the Island and in Southampton around mid-April and we hear the Rob da Bank will be on the panel of judges, no doubt hoping to spot burgeoning talent for his record label, Sunday Best.
How to enter?
OK, if you want to take place you’ve got until 15 March to send in your entry.
Rob da Bank can’t wait to get involved. “I’m always on the look out for new music and bands to support, and the South Coast is a hotbed of unearthed eccentric and otherwise musical gems so I’m well pleased we’re hooking up with Red Funnel to find a performer to represent on the Bandstand at Bestival 2010. Bring on the tunes!”
Details of how to enter the competition are available on the Red Hot Talent Website
Pick up entry forms can be picked up from Red Funnel terminals in Southampton, West Cowes or East Cowes.
