We don’t normally use VB for personal messages, but I’d like to say a big thanks to the man in a grey Audi who, this morning during rush-half-hour, came to my rescue in Blackwater.
Having broken down just prior to the busy junction at Blackwater, with many cars just driving around me, it was a great relief when a pin-stripe suited gentleman pulled over and came to see if he could help.
He managed to stop the traffic, enabling me to reverse the car back onto a horizontal level. This meant I could attempt to start the car without flooding the engine. He then pushed (our rather dirty car) car back down the hill to help me get it started.
Success!
But that’s not all
I was back on the road and able to continue with my journey. Pulling into a layby further up the road in order to turn round and head back into Newport, I was amazed to discover that the chap, who was also carrying a passenger, had turned his car around and followed me to make sure that I was OK.
This was a genuine act of kindness from someone who was obviously on his way to work, but willing to stop and help someone in distress.
For this I truly thank him, whoever he is. Grey Audi, blond hair, pinstripe suit and cutting a dash.
