The JP Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race is not just about sailing.
Each year thousands of pounds is raised for charities by those sailing around the Island in the annual race.
Bob Satchwell, the big cheese of the Society of Editors is an old hand in the race. He has been doing it for twenty years, but this year was particularly poignant for him.
40 years in the biz
As well as celebrating his 40 year anniversary in the journalism business he also managed to raise a tidy sum for prostate cancer with his three crew members.
It took them just nine hours to circumnavigate the Island, which equated to over a £100 per hour, raising a total of £945.
We understand that the cash will go towards an ultrasound scanner appeal for the urology clinic at Cambridge hospital.
Details of other charity fundraisers from Round the Island to follow.
