There are only a few days to go before the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival.
The acts are booked, the programmes are printed, so you can imagine what a huge disappointment it was for organisers to hear yesterday that their headline act, The Vander Bros, are unable to make it to the Island in time.
Apparently they’ve been performing abroad and their wheel of death is still in Holland – stuck on a container ship!
But worry not, because in the place of the Wheel of Death (which sounds far to scary anyway) comes Team M.A.D.!
Who are Team M.A.D.?
If you’ve ever been to the White Air Extreme Sports Festival and seen the stunt mountain bikers, you’ll have an idea of what to expect.
The only difference is that Team M.A.D. do it on a far bigger scale.
They are, apparently, the World’s largest professional Mountain Bike Stunt/Trials Display Team.
The team, headed by Giles Wolfe, take elements from street competitions and merges them into the pot to produce an inspiring, educational and breathe-taking show.
They’ve performed all over the world and will be making their way to the Garlic Festival this weekend hoping to wow the crowds.
We understand that festival goers might even be able to take part.
