We hear that Mark Harper, the Minister for Political and Constitutional Reform, is due to visit the Isle of Wight next week.
A visit was promised during the Parliamentary debate of the Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies Bill on 6th September when Nick Clegg said either himself or his deputy, Mark Harper, would visit to Island to hear the views of Islanders on the issue of changing constituency boundaries.
We understand the public meeting will take place in the Hunnyhill Room at the Riverside Centre on Thursday (30th) from 12.30pm.
All members of the public are welcome to attend to make their views known on the whether the Island should be split into two constituencies.
We have contacted Mark Harper’s cabinet office and are awaiting confirmation of the visit.
