VB readers will remember seeing the very sad news about an Island man dying earlier this week after falling from scaffolding.
The family have been in touch to ask VB to send out a ‘thank you’ to all those who tried to save his life.
Tragically, 47 year old Dean Marden fell only a matter of feet, but received such severe head injuries that nothing could be done to save him.
The family say that around a dozen bystanders stopped to help him, staying until the ambulance arrived. They would like to thank those people, as well as the paramedics.
As a double blow for the family, as Dean’s father, Colin Marden, died just three weeks ago.
Funeral next Thursday
Dean’s funeral takes place next Thursday (10th March) at 2pm at St Helens Church.
