Residents at Highfield House nursing home in Ryde will be brewing up for a tea party this afternoon to help RNID celebrates its 100th birthday and the launch of the charity’s new name – Action on Hearing Loss.
The residents at Highfield House and will be marking the special landmark year with a raffle and raising their tea cups to toast future success for the charity as Action on Hearing Loss.
Change of name
RNID is becoming Action on Hearing Loss to better describe the breadth of help the charity provides for people with all types of hearing loss and tinnitus.
The charity hopes the new brand will make more people aware of its life-changing support and services, as well as the importance of protecting your hearing and acting quickly to address hearing loss.
Marking a special time in history
Service Manager at Action on Hearing Loss Isle of Wight, Lesley Holmes, says: “Our centenary event in Highfield House is marking a special time in our history as we celebrate RNID’s achievements of the last 100 years and look forward to supporting people with hearing loss as Action on Hearing Loss in the future. The event is a fantastic way to raise awareness of the charity’s pioneering projects and services improving the everyday lives of people who are deaf or hard of hearing.”
