Readers may remember that for the last two years, the Island’s Hospice have run Go Yellow Days.
This year will be no exception but the difference will be the date. Previously it’s been run in October, but for 2011, the date has been brought forward to July.
A whopping £14,500 was raised for patient care last year and the Hospice are hoping to smash that figure on 8th July, as events are held across the Isle of Wight.
Lots of way to take part
If you want to take part you’ve got three weeks to think of interesting and excisting ways to raise money.
Previously there’s been bucket shaking bananas and monkeys taking to the streets, baths of custard, car washes, money tacks, raffles, quizzes, Yellow dinners and lunches and cake sales.
Tea @ Three Tea Parties
If none of those take your fancy how about holding a Go Yellow Tea @ Three Tea Party?
Ben Rust from the Hospice tells us, “These annual Tea Parties are a great way to get together with friends and family over some relaxing refreshments and cakes. This year sees Tea @ 3 celebrate 10 years of fundraising for the Hospice. This has become an annual get together to have a sit down with friends, families and colleagues and take a few moments to enjoy each others company and celebrate the good work of the Hospice.
“If you don’t fancy organising your own event all you have to do to join in the fun is don some Yellow and make a donation to show your support for the Island’s Hospice, and look out for Go Yellow Events happening in your area.”

Ben finished by saying, “Being part of ‘Go Yellow Day’ is a great way to raise money for patient care at the Hospice. It is also a chance to reflect on the care that the Hospice provides for over 800 Islanders each year, and how vital this care is to the Island Community.”
