Police are releasing CCTV images of a man they wish to trace after recent reports of burglaries in Newport on the Isle of Wight.
It’s alleged a man walked into ‘Coffee Republic’ in Pyle Street and stole a jar containing tips for staff and donations for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on the island.
The burglary was reported to have taken place between 9.40am and 9.50am on Sunday, September 4, 2011 shortly before the shop opened to the public.
CCTV from inside Coffee Republic on Sunday morning shows a man police wish to identify.
Linked to attempted burglary at God’s Providence
Police are linking this burglary to reports of a man trying to steal a teapot containing staff tips at the God’s Providence tea room in St. Thomas’ Square, Newport between 9.15am and 9.30am on Sunday, September 4, 2011. Nothing was stolen on this occasion after staff challenged the man.
