If you’ve been watching Melvyn Bragg’s Reel History of Britain series on BBC2, you may have seen Islander, Vicky Stradling, last week.
Vicky appeared in episode four of Reel History of Britain, Britain’s Black Diamonds, a series which reveals archive footage telling the history of modern Britain.
Vicky talks to Melvyn about her personal connection to the Gresford Colliery disaster of 1934, one of the worst in mining history, in which she lost two relatives.
