Paula Smith and Alison Wright are two Islanders, soon to be more commonly known as Pop ‘N’ Grow.
The two ladies have formed an organisation that aims to adapt babygrows and vests for use by neo-natal intensive care units.
The reason for making the converted baby grows and vests (they have poppers along the sleeve to allow easy opening) is to allow the baby to be able to wear something in intensive care whilst wearing a cannula (the thin tube that is inserted into a vein to administer medicine) and other tubes.
Supporting the Island NICU
The ladies are hoping that once they perfect their designs and gain charity status they’ll be able to take the idea further afield.
In the meantime they hope to provide the neo-natal intensive care unit at St Mary’s Hospital on the Island with Pop ‘N’ Grow clothing free of charge.
Raffle prizes appeal
A raffle is being held in November at the Baby and Children’s Market in Binstead Community Centre on 4th December to raise money for the cause.
Some great prizes have already been donated, but Paula and Ali are looking for more.
If you have something that you can donate to the appeal, please message either Paula or Ali through the Pop ‘N’ Grow Facebook page or email [email protected].
