Thanks to John Marr from Vectis 4×4 Response for sending through a weather update from the Met Office.
The forecast indicates that areas of locally heavy rain is expected for the Isle of Wight this afternoon and overnight with the potential for 30-50 mm in some places.
They say that small coastal catchments and urban areas are most at risk from repeated period of heavy rain this evening and Thursday morning.
Low flooding risk
The latest Flood Forecasting Centre Flood Guidance Statement gives a Yellow (LOW risk of flooding) across much of southern England from this evening, tomorrow and through to Friday.
