Polling cards for the forthcoming Police & Crime Commissioner Elections should be dropping through your letter boxes this week.
Assuming you completed and sent back the form the council sent to residents earlier in the year, you’ll be able to vote for your preferred candidate on Thursday 15th November 2012.
Cutting crime and delivering an effective and efficient police service
The Police and Crime Commissioner will be accountable for how crime is tackled in their police force area, in this case, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Those who have put themselves forward are:
- David Goodall, Lib Dem
- Simon Hayes, Independent
- Don Jerrard, JAC Party
- Michael Mates, Conservative
- Jacqui Rayment, Labour
- Stephen West, UKIP
Dedicated election Website
A dedicated election Website has been set up which has some excellent features to help provide you with enough background in order to make an informed vote on the 15th November.
There are links to each candidate’s Twitter streams, links to news items about them and full details of their responses to a number of questions posed.
For those choosing to vote for the individual rather than the party they represent, features such as being able to compare the answers of candidates to the same questions is fantastic.
Once your polling card drops through the letterbox, put it somewhere safe and don’t forget to vote on 15th November.
Edit 17:26 – Added Don Jerrard name and link.
