Having found a new home at St Francis Primary School when the Ventnor Winter Gardens was closed in 2011, the Ventnor Film Society (VFS) is on the move again.
The school venue had worked well for them, but with its closure at the end of last year, they needed to find a new home for their fortnightly screenings.
The move takes them to the more sumptuous surroundings of the Ventnor Arts Club, which is due to open next month.
Once again an excellent selection of films from around the world have been chosen by the VFS volunteers.
Iranian film starts the season
The season kicks off on 19th February with Iranian film, About Elly.
A group of friends from Tehran have gone on holiday with their children. This is a trip they have organised on impulse but when they arrive, there is some confusion about where they should be staying and who should be with them. They end up in a beachfront villa that happens to be vacant, but is derelict. As the holiday progresses circumstances change from the mysterious to the bizarre in this gripping drama.
Tickets for the screenings are £5, payable on the door. The film will start at 7.30 prompt. Latecomers will not be admitted.
Full details of all screenings for the season can be found on EventsOnTheWight.
