This Sunday brings the chance for you to find out more about what happens behind the scenes at Briddlesford Lodge Farm.
Briddlesford is a working dairy farm with a milking herd of 150 prize winning pedigree Guernsey cows. There are a further 150 young stock, made up of heifers and calves, some being bred for milk, and some for veal.
Book in advance
Places are limited and you’ll need to book in advance, but if successful you’ll be shown the milking herd, the barns and machinery, and be able to watch the milking.
Weather permitting, there will be tractor rides around the fields to see the crops growing and the pastures for grazing. Most importantly, visitors can get up close to cows and calves and touch and stroke them, and let them suck their fingers.
Light refreshments
All will be offered light refreshments after the farm tour, with a chance to taste the well known Briddlesford Buttercup milk.
Open Farm Sunday takes place on Sunday 9th June at 3pm. If you fancy going along, you need to book your place with Judi by emailing her on [email protected]
