The evening intends to provide a showcase of the Island’s creativity and talent with Quay Arts artistic director, Robert Miles, delivering an introduction. Throughout the evening they’ll be a series of mini-events to inspire and entertain you.
Music and film
There’ll be live music from the superb Isle of Wight bands, Plastic Mermaids and the Red Squirrel Band.
Paul Windridge from MIST will be out on the terrace projecting short films on the side of the building with soundtrack.
Workshop demos and diary room
Several of the tutors who hold weekly or one-off workshops at Jubilee Stores will be holding demonstrations to whet your interest.
Resident artists Howard Hardiman and Laura Hathaway will be doing something special and we also hear there’s going to be diary room where you can go to speak to the camera to record your thoughts.
Really eclectic and exciting range of events
Of the new autumn season of events, Robert Miles said,
“I hope people notice the change. We were really keen to be open more and offer a really eclectic and exciting range of events. I think everyone deserves a really high quality mix of arts and entertainment, and we hope to offer that alongside our excellent café.
“We have also changed things around in the shop to make it easier to see all the fantastic local arts and crafts on sale. In this age of austerity, there can be no better way to cheer yourself up than a trip to Quay Arts, supporting the local creative economy and enjoying the best the Island has to offer.”
There’ll be food and drinks in the Quay Arts cafe all evening, so why not bring some friends and hang out for the evening?
The event takes place from 6pm, Friday 13th September.
