An email sent out last week to town and parish clerks by the Customer Services Manager at highways PFI contractor, Island Roads, revealed some unexpected staff changes at the company.
The email advised that the Communications Officer had left the company.
Island Roads only had one Comms officer covering the Island and the Group Marketing and PR Manager for Ringway (the parent company) has since confirmed the officer had left to “pursue a new career direction” and that a replacement was not yet in place.
Former council spin doctors
Press enquiries are now being handled by Island-based PR company, Robertson Foster.
The company name may sound familiar to you. It’s the surnames of former Isle of Wight council Head of Comms and Head of Press Office, Claire Robertson and Gavin Foster.
Customer Services Manager also leaving
The Customer Services Manager also advised in her email that she too would be leaving Island Roads on Friday 13th June 2014.
It’s not clear whether a permanent Manager has been appointed yet.
Both employees had been with the company since 1st April 2013.
