The CP reports the Hovercraft pilot, who was charged for being over the alcohol limit whilst in control of a hovercraft, was back in court today.
In August, Newport Magistrates Court heard the pilot was charged with registering 96 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on 22nd June, exceeding the pre-described limit.
According to today’s CP report, the 50 year old from Northwood pleaded guilty to the charge.
First of its kind
Sunyana Sharman, prosecuting for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, said in August this was the first case of this kind they’ve had to deal with. The pilot, who has 18 years experience with the Hovercraft, held a previously unblemished record.
He was granted unconditional bail and the case was adjourned until 10 October for sentencing.
