ARRETON:
Mersley Down Road (on the bend between Knighton Shute and Rowlands Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 9am until 3.30pm on Monday 23 November, Tuesday 24 November and Wednesday 25 November 2015 for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
BEMBRIDGE:
Hillway Road (outside Whitecliff Caravan Park). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Thursday 19 November 2015 until 4pm on Monday 23 November 2015 for the installation of a new water service connection by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water. There may be some traffic delays.
BLACKWATER:
A3056 Blackwater Shute (at entrance to Wight Island Materials) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 6.30pm until 11pm on Wednesday 18 Thursday 19 November and Friday 20 November 2015 for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
BRADING:
A3055 New Road, Brading (outside Methodist Church). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on Monday 23 November 2015 for the installation of a water meter by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water. Some traffic delays are likely.
BRIGHSTONE:
Warnes Lane / Public Footpath BS25, Brighstone will be closed to vehicles pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders from 7am on Monday 26 October 2015 until 5pm on Friday 20 November 2015. The closure is from B3399 Main Road to the junction with Wilberforce Road. The alternative route for pedestrians, cyclists or equestrians will be B3399 Main Road, New Road and Wilberforce Road. Vehicular access to premises will be maintained overnight and at weekends. The closure is for drainage works by Island Roads.
North Street will be closed to vehicles from Main Road to Upper Lane between 7am Thursday 19 November and Friday 4 December. The closure is for drainage works by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be B3399 Main Road and Moortown Lane and Upper Lane.
Mill Lane/ Wicken Hill Lane / Thorncross Lane will be closed between 8am and 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between approx. Thursday 5 November and Friday 25 November 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from New Road to Chine Lane. The alternative route for traffic is; Grange Road, A3055 Military Road and Chine Lane. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads.
B3399 Brighstone Road (150 metres Limerstone side of The Countryman). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 8am on Wednesday 11 November until 4.30pm on Tuesday 17 November 2015 for cable works by LCM Contractors Ltd for British Telecom. Traffic delays will occur.
CALBOURNE:
Lynch Lane will be closed between 8am and 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between approx. Thursday 5 November and Monday 30 November 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from Moortown Lane to Freshwater Road. The alternative route for traffic is; Freshwater Road, Brook Road, Brook Hill, Brighstone Road, Hunny Hill and Moortown Lane. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads.
CARISBROOKE:
Clatterford Road (outside 24) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Tuesday 17 November until approx. 5pm on Friday 20 November 2015 for the installation of a new gas service by Southern Gas Networks. Some traffic delays will occur.
CHALE:
Chale Lane / Pyle Shute will be closed between 8am and 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between approx. Tuesday 3 November and Wednesday 11 November 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from Town Lane to Southdown Lane. The alternative route for traffic is; Town Lane, Chale Green, Chale Street, Church Place, A3055 Military Road and Southdown Lane. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads.
Appleford Road (various locations on either side near to the junction with Appleford Lane ) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Friday 13 November, Monday 16 November and Tuesday 17 November for cable works Hire A Lite for British Telecom. Traffic delays will occur.
EAST COWES:
Esplanade will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 25 April 2014 for the foreseeable future between 375 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road and the end of the highway 860 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip.
FRESHWATER:
Afton Road (various locations between Afton Garden Centre and Blackbridge Road)
Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day between Monday 16 November and Friday 20 November 2015 for hedge & tree cutting works by Groundsell Contracting. Traffic delays will occur.
Norton Green will be closed from 9am until 4pm on two days between Monday 16 November and Friday 20 November 2015 from Copse Lane to Hill Lane. The route for diverted traffic will be: Copse Lane and Hill Lane. The closure is for carriageway repair works near to the junction with Hill Lane by Island Roads.
Newport Road / Freshwater Road, Freshwater will be closed between 6.30pm until 6am on each night (Mondays to Fridays) between Tuesday 17 November and Tuesday 1 December 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from Causeway to Shalcombe junction. The alternative route for traffic is; A3055 Afton Road, Military Road, Brook Village Road, Brook Hill, Brook Road and Shalcombe Road The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads.
GODSHILL:
Beacon Alley, Godshill will be closed from Whitwell Road Bagwich Lane between 7am on Monday 23 November until 5pm on Monday 21 December 2015. The closure is for drainage works by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Whitwell Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road, Newport Road and Niton Road.
Godshill Park Road will be closed on two day during the period from Friday 13 November and Thursday 19 November 2015 (Mondays to Fridays) between A3020 Shanklin Road and the end of the surfaced highway to the South-east. The closure is for carriageway repair works. There is no alternative route for vehicles. Vehicular access to premises and business will be restricted when necessary between 9am and 4pm.
HAVENSTREET:
Combley Road (near to Guildford Farm). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 9am until 3.30pm on Monday 23 November, Tuesday 24 November and Wednesday 25 November 2015 for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
Main Road (outside Sans Souci) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 30 November until Friday 4 December until 4pm on Friday 4 December 2015 for the installation of a new water connection by Clancy for Southern Water. There may be some traffic delays.
LAKE:
Ranalagh Road / Cliff Road / Cliff Path. From 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic:
Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. The closure is required due to erosion. Pedestrian access will be maintained as usual.
A3055 Sandown Road (junction with A3056 Newport Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am on Monday 9 November until 4pm on Friday 20 November 2015 for works in connection with the replacement of the junction traffic lights by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3056 Newport Road (at the junction with Whitecross Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 16 November 2015 until 4pm on Friday 20 November 2015 for the installation a new 90mm water main to a new Premier Inn by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water. Traffic delays will occur.
Longwood Lane / Golf Links Road, Lake, will be closed from 9am until 3.30pm on two days between Monday 9 November and Friday 13 November 2015 from Lower Road to The Fairway. The alternative route for vehicles will be; The Fairway, Station Approach, Perowne Way, A3055 Morton Common, Morton Road, Hornsey Rise and Lower Road. The road closure is for carriageway repair works on two days during the above dates.
NEWBRIDGE:
Main Road (approx. 250 metres Newbridge Village side of Dodpits Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation when necessary from 9am on Monday 14 September until approx. Friday 18 December 2015 in the interests of safety during the construction of a new solar farm by Anesco Ltd. Some traffic delays may occur.
NEWCHURCH:
Watery Lane (at the junction with Harbors Lake Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on Monday 16 November and if necessary on Tuesday 17 November 2015 for the installation of a bus shelter by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Langbridge / The Shute / High Street will be closed between 9am and 4pm on Monday 16 November and if necessary on Tuesday 17 November 2015 from Langbridge Farm to the entrance to Newchurch (All Saints) Church. The route for diverted traffic will be: Langbridge, Knighton Lane Knighton Shute, Mersley Down Road, Downend Road, A3056 Arreton Street and Hale Common, Watery Lane, Winford Road and High Street. The closure is for carriageway repair works at the junction with Knighton Lane / Mersley Lane by Island Roads
NEWPORT:
Rowridge Lane will be closed on two day during the period from Friday 13 November and Thursday 19 November 2015 (Mondays to Fridays) between Calbourne Road and the end of the surfaced highway to the south-west. The closure is for carriageway repair works. There is no alternative route for vehicles. Vehicular access to premises and business will be restricted when necessary between 9am and 4pm.
Westmill Road will be closed between 9am and 4pm on two days (Mondays to Fridays) between Friday 13 November and Thursday 19 November 2015 from Hinton Road to with Kitbridge Road. The route for diverted traffic will be: Hinton Road, Marlborough Road, Millfield Road, Mountbatten Drive and Westmill Road. The closure is for carriageway repair works by Island Roads.
Mill Street will be closed from Crocker Street to Foxes Road and Old Westminster Lanewill be closed from Mill Street to Hearn Street. The closures are for road resurfacing works at the junction of Mill Street and Westminster Lane by Aeropark Ltd. The route for diverted traffic will be: Hearn Street, Caesars Road, Drill Hall Road, Carisbrooke Road, High Street, St James Street, Vicarage Walk, Sylvan Drive and Foxes Road.
A3054 Fairlee Road (between the access road to North Fairlee Farm and the access to Fairlee Treatment Works). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 7.30pm until approx. 11pm on Wednesday 18 and if necessary on Thursday 19 November and Friday 20 November 2015 for carriageway repairs by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Shide Road (junction with Queens Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 9am until 4pm on Friday 27 November and for the installation of a bus shelter by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
NITON:
Blackgang Road (100 metres on Blackgang side of Village nameplate). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on Monday 23 November and if necessary on Tuesday 24 November and Friday 25 November 2015 for carriageway repairs by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
RYDE:
Upton Road (outside 51 at junction with Bettesworth Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 16 November 2015 until 4pm on Tuesday 17 November 2015 for the installation of a new water service connection by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water. Traffic delays will occur.
High Street / Lind Street / St Thomas Square (from Church Lane into Union Street and from the Crown Hotel 30 metres towards Garfield Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4.30pm when required between Monday 5 October and Friday 13 November 2015 for footway works by Island Roads. Some traffic delays will occur.
A3054 Binstead Road (near to Stonepits Close). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 9am until 3.30pm on Wednesday 18 November, Thursday 19 November and Friday 20 November 2015 for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
Spencer Road (junction with Buckland Gardens) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8.30am on Monday 14 September until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 27 November 2015 for gas main replacement works by Southern Gas Networks. Some traffic delays will occur.
Upton Road (near Windmill Close). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4.30pm on Friday 20 November 2015 for hedge & tree cutting works by Groundsell Contracting. Traffic delays will occur.
Smallbrook Lane (access to Smallbrook Farm). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am on Wednesday 18 November until 3.30pm on Friday 20 November 2015 for driveway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
SANDOWN:
A3055 Broadway (junction with Beachfield Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Saturday 21 November and Sunday 22 November 2015 for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
Culver Parade (opposite Browns Golf Course) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 8am until 5pm (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 2 November and Monday 30 November 2015 for repairs to be undertaken to the seawall by Islandwide Grounds Maintenance. There may be some traffic delays.
SEAVIEW:
Old Seaview Lane will remain closed between until approx. Monday 23 November 2015 from Solent View Road to Seaview Lane. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads. Diversions will be signposted.
SHANKLIN:
Cliff Path will be closed from 9.30am on Monday 20 January 2014 for the foreseeable future to pedestrians from Skew Bridge Path to Winchester House Car Park. The closure is required due to erosion/ land movement. During the period of closure the alternative route for pedestrians will be; Skew Bridge Path, A3055 Sandown Road and Winchester House Car Park.

ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained. During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be;
Pedestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Public Footpath V81, V77, NT28, NT29, NT30 and A3055 Undercliff Drive. Cyclists and Equestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Seven Sisters Road, St Lawrence Shute, Whitwell Road, Ventnor Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road, High Street (Niton), Institute Hill, Barrack Shute and A3055 Undercliff Drive.
VENTNOR:
Newport Road will be closed between 8pm and 6am from Down Lane to Rew Street on each night (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 16 November and Tuesday 17 November 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting). The alternative route for traffic is; Newport Road (Ventnor), Ocean View Road, Mitchell Avenue, St Boniface Road, A3055 Leeson Road, Bonchurch Road, Cowleaze Hill, Church Road and High Street (Shanklin), A3020 Victoria Avenue and Godshill Road, St Johns Road, High Street (Wroxall) and Clarence Road. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads.
Public Footpath V88a will be closed from its junction with Public Footpath V88 to Steephill Cove. From 9am on Monday 16 November until 4pm on Friday 20 November 2015. The alternative route for pedestrians will be. Public Footpath V88. The closure is footpath repair works on two days during the above dates.
Longdown Steps Public Footpath V102 will be closed from 10am on Monday 12 May 2014 for the foreseeable future between South Street and St Catherine’s Street. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons using the footpath until wall repair works have been undertaken. The diversion route for pedestrians will be; South Street, West Street, High Street, Victoria Street, Wheelers Bay Road and St Catherine’s Street.
Castle Road (between Zig Zag Road and Gills Cliff Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Tuesday 30 December 2014 until approx. mid November 2015 until retaining wall works have been completed by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A305 Undercliff Drive (outside Castle End, near Botanic Gardens) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on Wednesday 11 November and Wednesday 18 November 2015 (weather permitting) for concrete pouring works. Traffic delays will occur.
VENTNOR:
Spring Hill will be closed on two days between 9am and 3.30pm between Monday 9 November and Friday 13 November 2015 from St Boniface Road to Grove Road. The alternative route for vehicles will be; St Boniface Road, Trinity Road, High Street, Victoria Street, Albert Street, Pier Street and High Street. The road closure is for carriageway repair works on two days during the above dates.
WHIPPINGHAM:
Public Footpath N214 will be closed from Crematorium Road to Public Footpath N114 between 9am on Wednesday 5 August 2015 and 9am on Friday 26 February 2016. The closure is required until urgent repair works have been undertaken to B171 Whippingham Cattle Creep.
The alternative route for pedestrians is; Crematoriums Road, A3054 Lushington Hill, Racecourse and Fairlee Road.
WHITWELL
Kemming Road (outside Baytree Cottage) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 6.30am on Wednesday 18 November until 6.30pm on Friday 20 November 2015 for driveway /footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
WHITELEY BANK:
A3020 Shanklin Road junction with Godshill Road (on roundabout). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 6.30pm until 6.30am on the nights of Wednesday 18 November. Thursday 19 November and Friday 20 November 2015 for carriageway repairs by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
WOOTTON:
A3054 Kite Hill (at Wootton Bridge). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from approx. 6.30pm on Monday 16 November 2015 until approx. 7pm on Friday 19 February 2016 for bridge strengthening works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur. Motorists travelling between Newport and Ryde are advised to use an alternative route, if possible during the works such as via Long Lane, The Downs Road and Ashey Road. Mill Square will also be closed during the above dates from the South-eastern junction with A3054 High Street to a point 18 metres to the North West of A3054 High Street. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Mill Square and A3054 High Street. The road closure is necessary whilst bridge works are undertaken. The Public Slipway will be closed at Mill Square near to the South-eastern junction with A3054 High Street during the same times.
