Well done to 25 year old Ventnorian, Anita Young, who recently packed in her job as PA to the Principal of the Isle of Wight College to head out to Ghana for ten weeks of voluntary work.
Anita was adopted from Sri Lanka and wanted to give something back to those less privileged.
How Anita will be helping
She’s in Tamale, Ghana helping to build a well and special needs school. Her parents, Nava and Mick Young say she’ll also be teaching and working in the community.
Anita has has raised nearly £300 for the work out there with more to come. The entire trip is self financed by her.
Her parents told OnTheWight,
“We are so proud of her.”
Well done Anita, there are not many who would do the same.
