Cowes Main Carnival
Crossfield Road, Parklands Avenue, Park Road, Victoria Road, Mill Hill Road, Birmingham Road, Shooters Hill, High Street, Bath Road and the Parade will be closed in a rolling closure for Cowes Carnival on 4 August from 7pm. For further information contact Island Roads on 01983 822440
Cowes Illuminated Carnival

EAST COWES:
Esplanade will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 25 April 2014 for the foreseeable future between 375 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road and the end of the highway 860 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip.
FRESHWATER:
Newport Road between The Causeway and Broad Lane. This road will be closed for 5 to 10 nights for carriageway resurfacing works between 6.30pm and 6am on 29 July to 30 September. For further details contact Island Roads on 01983 822440
LAKE:
Whitecross Lane, by Aldi Store. Temporary traffic management (traffic signals & priority working) will be in operation between 27 June and 5 August for highway works in connection with the construction of the new store. Works are being undertaken by MCM Construction
Ranalagh Road / Cliff Road / Cliff Path from 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic:
Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. The closure is required due to erosion. Pedestrian access will be maintained as usual.
NEWCHURCH:
Mersley Down Road between Newport Shute and Brading Down Road This road will be closed for 5 to 10 nights for carriageway resurfacing works between 6.30pm and 6am on 29 July to 30 September. For further details contact Island Roads on 01983 822440

SHANKLIN:
Cliff Path will be closed from 9.30am on Monday 20 January 2014 for the foreseeable future to pedestrians from Skew Bridge Path to Winchester House Car Park. The closure is required due to erosion/ land movement. During the period of closure the alternative route for pedestrians will be: Skew Bridge Path, A3055 Sandown Road and Winchester House Car Park.
Shanklin Children’s Carnival

ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained. During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be: Pedestrians: A3055 Undercliff Drive, Public Footpath V81, V77, NT28, NT29, NT30 and A3055 Undercliff Drive. Cyclists and Equestrians: A3055 Undercliff Drive, Seven Sisters Road, St Lawrence Shute, Whitwell Road, Ventnor Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road, High Street (Niton), Institute Hill, Barrack Shute and A3055 Undercliff Drive.
VENTNOR:
Castle Road (between Zig Zag Road and Gills Cliff Road). The road will be closed between 8 July and 16 September while retaining wall works are carried out. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Gills Cliff Road to Castle Road and Zig Zag Road to Zig Zag Road while the closure is in place. Traffic delays may occur.
WHIPPINGHAM:
Public Footpath N214 will be closed from Crematorium Road to Public Footpath N114 from 9am on Wednesday 5 August 2015 for the foreseeable future. The closure is required until urgent repair works have been undertaken to B171 Whippingham Cattle Creep. The alternative route for pedestrians is; Crematoriums Road, A3054 Lushington Hill, Racecourse and Fairlee Road.
Public Footpath N221 will be closed from Island Harbour to the Folly from Tuesday 26April 2016 for the foreseeable future until repair works have been undertaken.
The closure is required as the footpath is unsafe due to a landslip. The alternative route for pedestrians is; Mill Lane, Fairlee Road, East Cowes Road, Whippingham Road and Folly Lane.
A3021 Whippingham Road. Temporary traffic signals will be in operation between south of Folly Lane at times between 27 July and 25 November by SGN for safe site access off the highway for gas main pipe installation works. For further details contact SGN
WOOTTON:
A3054 Lushington Hill. Temporary traffic signals will be in operation half way up Lushington Hill between 27 July and 2 August by Island Roads for repairs to a collapsed sewer. For further details contact Island Roads on 822440
